Gal Gadot reveals she underwent emergency surgery

Gal Gadot has shared the harrowing story of how she survived a life-threatening "massive blood clot" in her brain during her most recent pregnancy.

In an emotional Instagram post on Sunday, the actress revealed that she was eight months pregnant when she was diagnosed and underwent emergency surgery following the birth of her fourth child.

Gadot recounted that in February, after enduring “excruciating headaches” for weeks, she finally underwent an MRI that uncovered the severe condition. “In one moment, my family and I were confronted with how fragile life can be. It was a stark reminder of how quickly everything can change,” she wrote. “Amid a challenging year, all I wanted was to hold on and live.”

She described the whirlwind of events that followed: a rush to the hospital, emergency surgery, and the birth of her daughter, Ori, in the midst of uncertainty and fear. Gadot shared that her daughter’s name, which means “my light,” was a beacon of hope during her ordeal. “Before the surgery, I told my husband that when our daughter arrived, she would be the light waiting for me at the end of this tunnel,” she wrote.

Expressing gratitude to the medical team at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, Gadot said she is now on the road to recovery. She emphasized the importance of listening to one’s body and seeking medical attention, using her experience to inspire awareness and advocacy.

“As we celebrate Hanukkah, a holiday of light and miracles, I reflect on the personal miracle I was granted,” she wrote. “My daughter Ori is a constant reminder of resilience, hope, and the strength we carry within. My wish is that we all find our light, experience our own miracles, and continue to advocate for our health and for one another.”

Gadot and her husband, Jaron Varsano, welcomed Ori in March. The couple, married since 2008, are also parents to Alma (born in 2011), Maya (born in 2017), and Daniella (born in 2021).
